My name is Dr. Pam Halton.

I had backgrounds in teaching (over 30 years now), empowering people, allopathic medicine, alternative medicine (many varieties), conscious awareness, 2 kinds of engineering, science, research, teambuilding, and outdoor sports. The one theme that stays true consistently is teaching. In the past six years especially (although realistically before that too), I have become VERY interested in forming next systems to replace dysfunctional societal systems.

I am currently working with a national group and an international group who work on next systems. These include the Next System Project which is a child of The Democracy Collaborative. I am working for a paper for them which is due in December. Wish me luck to get it completed on time with all of the other life tasks plus health issues of my own. Another group I work with is the Ubuntu Movement or the Ubuntu party. Ubuntu is in 210 or more countries around the world which is more than the United Nations. Ubuntu has the best quickest easiest action plan that I have found yet to start an economically viable set of next systems and make it spread virally around the world.

I believe that time banking may be a critical transition piece to the dysfunctional economy we are in now and the next system economy which would help people thrive everywhere and put people ahead of profits. I have helped Stacey Jacobsohn of Time Initiative of Maine (T.I.ME) and I have had the privilege of discussing timebanking successes, history, politics, etc. as well as reading research papers about them. I have read some of Edgar Cahn's work (the founder of time banking). I was also briefly helping Heather Kralik with Onion River Exchange in VT before getting pulled off  to jump to the national and international groups I am working with now.

I am starting to connect with politicians as well who might be open to these causes and further them along. I want to educate all the various groups who are building next societal systems and start bridging the gaps between them and referring them to each other. Being an instructor who teaches other instructors and community leaders, I want to help facilitate strong multidisciplinary networks of people who can better withstand whatever the future holds for us.

I am currently choosing not to operate as a doctor and to instead operate as an educator, teambuilder, and then also a coach or advisor when people find that useful.

We are the ones we have been waiting for to fix these problems.
