I was born in central California in 1947, the first of 4 children.
I started Antioch College in Yellow Springs, OH in the fall of 1965. I graduated in 1970. I was recognized with a CO status and did my alternative service at a full day, full year Headstart. There I meet my current best friend and woman who become my wife.
I have worked (for 3 years at a time) administering a childcare center, being a foster care social worker, and selling life insurance, handling the cheese dept at the local Food Coop.
1990 we decided to build a house on land I had bought with my father after he and his 2nd wife moved to Marlboro, VT. From then until I retired in 2020 I worked as a remodeling builder and contractor.
My wife, Debby, died in August 2018 from metastasized colon cancer.
I joined Brattleboro Time Trade in 2011, when the Americorp volunteer who coordinated the 1st year, ended her term. I have been on and off the board for BTT over the last 11 years. I have been treasurer and for a time the bookkeeper. I helped write BTT's 501(c)3 application and by-laws. Recently, I presented the topic of member retention and satisfaction at BTT annual meeting and on Timebanks.org Town Hall in May. I strongly believe in the philosophy and principles of time trading, but worry about how we can engage and keep members. BTT has too few members active in running and advancing the organization.
